Hello Neighbors!
I’m Kristen Zimtbaum, my family lives over on Churchill right by the Sherwood Too sign. I am so excited and proud of Michelle for starting this site and working so hard to unite neighbors and create a strong community neighborhood for our families, Thank you Michelle!
I am president of MOMS Club of Clackamas/Happy Valley. MOMS being an acronym for Mothers Offering Mothers Support. We are an international non-profit organization of Stay-At-Home-Moms serving local family, children’s and women’s charities, in addition to being a social and support club for SAHMs offering play groups, field trips, moms’ nights out, etc. If you are an At-Home Mom and this sounds of interest to you, please don’t hesitate to contact me at KZimtbaum@aol.com.
I also wanted to let you all know about our upcoming fundraiser: our 2nd Annual Roll For The CCA BUNCO Tournament benefiting The Children’s Cancer Association. The CCA, located here in Portland, helps children with cancer and their families through information, support and fun programs. All of the proceeds from this event go straight to the CCA! It will be held Wednesday March 5 at 7 p.m. at The Aerie at Eagle Landing, 10220 SE Causey Ave. Tickets are $25 to play, but donation tickets are also available at any increment for those not interested in playing but still wanting to support this very worthy cause. In addition to BUNCO playing we will have several gift baskets up for raffle! All BUNCO and Donation tickets are being pre-sold so if you would like to participate, please contact me ASAP! (KZimtbaum@aol.com) Raffle tickets may be purchased ahead of time but will also be available the night of the event.
We are also looking for Corporate Sponsors so if you happen to be a business owner and would like to help sponsor our event, or have items you would like to donate for prizes or raffle baskets please let me know!

Our neighbor Kelly has been selected to write for the Oregonian. Articles will appear periodically in the Sunday’s Opinion section. You can also see the entire collection on the Oregonians web site…. OregonLive.
Very neat Kelly!
Volunteer opportunities with Marie Page:
I work with a company called CHI (Cultural Homestay International) in finding host families for exchange students. The area that our group covers is North of Salem to Woodland, WA, Hood River to Oregon Coast down to Waldport. This is the time of year that the students are applying to come for the next school year. We have acceptances from many of the schools all ready and we are looking for host families. The host family gets to look at the student applications and choose a student that they feel will fit in with their family.
Thank you!

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE

A non-profit organization for tomorrow’s leaders.
Hosting Exchange Students can be rewarding and fun!
Contact me if you are interested in hosting a high-school student for whole or half of the school year.
We help host a student every year for either Gladstone High School or Rex Putnam.
Pass this on to your friends and family also! It is better to have more families wanting to host rather than more students hoping to come experience American culture.
The students speak English and come prepared and wanting to share their culture with us!
